Hanagusari charm

A finely inlayed Hanagusari charm with silver and gold on a shibuichi body. This bead is in the style of Fukura Suzume a stylized sparrow that is often found as netsuke or on textile designs. The sparrow is said to be obsessed with honour especially with repaying debts. Often found in folktales and used in children’s toys and textile designs.
